Polar Vortex and Old Man Winter to Host Open Practices This Spring in Humboldt Park

Itching to get back on the field? Polar Votex and Old Man Winter invite all ages and genders to their open practices beginning Sunday, March 6th at 10:30am. A mix of conditioning drills and game play, practices run each Sunday (except Easter) through April 24th at Allstate Turf Field in Humboldt Park.

While focus is Masters (33+) and Grand Masters (40+) eligible men, ALL are welcome to break out the cleats and break out of your winter hibernation. If you have any questions, please contact Polar Vortex/Old Man Winter at chicagopolarvortex@gmail.com

See below from Polar Vortex/Old Man Winter for more details:

We will play in ALL weather conditions except lightning. We welcome ALL to join us. If you think you're too young and too fast to play against a bunch of old farts, we have gone to Men's Sectionals the last 2 years and have easily qualified for Regionals both years. Each year, we have given our bid to our young brothers in arms to have them go play and learn at Regionals. This practice is at a higher level than most League games. We will start out with some light warm up drills and then start playing. As the weeks progress, the practices will get more structured and focused on conditioning, skills and drills.

We play hard and then we go out for a few beers afterwards. Last year was a blast! We look forward to seeing anyone who shows up. Giddy up for some fun ultimate this Spring.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at: chicagopolarvortex@gmail.com

Thank you.
